Corda Credit Union Opens North Liberty Branch

This is Corda’s first location outside of Linn County.

Corda Opens First Branch In Johnson County

Corda Credit Union is celebrating the grand opening of its first Johnson County branch at 1265 Hayes Lane, just off West Penn Street in North Liberty’s Solomon’s Landing development. The 5,046-square-foot branch, designed by Solum Lang Architects, LLC, combines convenience and comfort with a modern open floor plan, multiple drive-through lanes, ITMs for quick transactions, and a welcoming space where staff provide one-on-one personalized guidance.

“This is a major milestone for Corda,” said Paula O’Rourke, President and CEO. “Opening our first branch outside Linn County reflects the vision behind our name change and our commitment to growing with our communities. We’re excited to bring Corda’s approachable, people-centered banking philosophy to North Liberty.”

Founded in 1935 by 11 Cedar Rapids educators, Corda has grown into a $700 million, 26,000-member credit union serving 22 Iowa counties. Formerly Linn Area Credit Union, the organization adopted the Corda name in 2024 to reflect its broader membership. The name Corda, Latin for hearts, symbolizes the credit union’s dedication to serving members and communities with care, expertise, and active community involvement.

The grand opening celebration, September 10–13, will include daily giveaways, family-friendly activities, and prize drawings, including a $1,500 travel package. Each day will feature special highlights such as Kona Ice, a community grill-out, and a live radio broadcast. Guests can also vote for three local nonprofits, with Corda donating $1,500 to the top choice and $500 to each of the others.

Limited-time special offers will be available on new checking and youth savings accounts. For full details and a complete event schedule, visit CordaCU.org/NLGO.
