News from Corda Credit Union’s 2026 Annual Meeting
President/CEO Paula O’Rourke addressed Corda Credit Union members virtually, reviewing the highlights of the past year.
This year’s virtual annual meeting was held on Monday, May 11, 2026, beginning at 6pm.
President/CEO Paula O’Rourke reflected on Corda Credit Union’s strong foundation and continued growth during the Annual Meeting. She highlighted the credit union’s origins as Cedar Rapids Teachers’ Credit Union in 1935 and the enduring commitment to serving members and communities with “a builder’s heart.”
As Corda celebrated its 90th anniversary in 2025, Paula spoke about one of the most significant milestones in the credit union’s history: the opening of its first branch outside Linn County in North Liberty. Plans were also announced for a future Coralville branch, further expanding Corda’s presence in Johnson County.
Several new products and services launched in 2025, including Youth Savings and Youth Checking accounts designed to help young members build healthy financial habits early. Also introduced were Emergency Savings accounts focused on strengthening financial resilience. O’Rourke highlighted Corda’s continued dedication to financial literacy through branch conversations, classroom partnerships, and family-focused education initiatives.
Additionally, O’Rourke encouraged exploration of Corda’s Community Impact Report, which showcases the organization’s charitable giving, employee volunteerism, and support of the Teacher Store.
The board governance and nominations, audit, and finance committee chairpersons updated members on the financial and organizational milestones that their respective committees achieved in 2025.
Voting for the candidates for the board of directors was held online from March 23 through April 22, 2026. Incumbents Margaret Eichhorn, Cameron Flores, and Mike Gillen were elected to serve three-year terms.
