Get Your Free Credit Report
Review your credit report to ensure accuracy and detect any signs of fraud.
It’s a good idea to check your credit report to make sure everything is correct and to monitor for fraudulent activity. Go to Annual Credit Report to request FREE weekly online credit reports from the three credit reporting agencies — Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion. (Requesting a credit report will not affect your credit score.)
Each report will show your credit history but not your credit score. If you would like to receive your credit score, you can have it added to your report for a small fee.
Once you receive your copy, go through it closely. It will list each credit card and loan you’ve had recently, give a breakdown of your payment history, and show the companies that have reviewed your credit file. If a listing doesn’t make sense, you can call the business and report the inaccuracy to the credit bureaus.
If you see something that makes you suspect that someone is/was stealing your identity, contact all three of the credit reporting agencies immediately.
